Make Music With Us!
We believe that music and the arts can enrich our worship, deepen our faith, and connect us to God. Our enthusiastic and accomplished choirs, bell choir, and instrumentalists regularly enliven our services with music from a variety of traditions. James Barkovic, our minister of music, oversees all our music making and enthusiastically mentors beginners and proficient musicians alike. Please contact him if you would like to join a group or you have another musical gift to share!
Senior Choir
Adult and teen singers of all skill levels and experience are invited to participate in our Senior Choir, which performs during worship services each Sunday from September through June, and in special concerts. Auditions are not required. Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings at 7:45 p.m. at the church.
Young People’s Music
Young People’s Music (YPM) is for singers ages 5-18, and instrumentalists ages 6-18. YPM performs regularly during Sunday worship. Director Nan Gibbons leads YPM to develop age-appropriate musicality and have fun doing it. Practice is held most Sundays after church and new participants are always welcome.
Handbells
The Handbell Choir rehearses weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:45-7:45 p.m. at the church; it plays during worship about once a month. The Schulmerich handbells were donated to the church in 1991 by the late Anna Damon.
Worship Arts
The visual and performing arts help us make the stories and traditions of our faith come alive. We often tell Bible stories through drama, involving people of all ages. Members of our community help us change the look of the sanctuary for each season. We are always looking for creative new ways to teach and learn God’s good news.
