This Service Sunday, we dedicated $55,787 of our collective gifts, roughly 10% of our 2025 budget to organizations who do wonderful work of justice and service: Minuteman Arc, Household Goods, Open Table, Habitat for Humanity, The International Institute of New England, Concord Prison Outreach, Organization for the Assabet, Sudbury, and Concord Rivers, The Robbins House, and The United Church of Christ. We also collaborated on some in-house service projects:
- We wrote 35 postcards encouraging our members of Congress to act with love, compassion and justice! The postcards are now in the hands of our executive conference minister Darrell Goodwin, who will hand-carry them to DC on the 29th!
- Our Care Card writing group completed 15 cards for folks who are experiencing health issues, grieving the recent loss of a loved one, or isolated and unable to make it to church in person.
- We decorated and filled 50 bags with over 290 lbs of food for weekends to nourish children in partnership with Open Table.
- We repotted, replanted, and cleaned up our accessible community planter in preparation for colder weather.
- We gathered, sorted, and donated 8 large bags of bedding; 50 new pillows; and large box of miscellaneous household stuff for Household Goods
- We decorated over 50 kindness rocks and “planted” them in our Welcome Garden for neighbors and friends to find.
